Brenda's Testimony of Transformation

christian-testimony

I would like to share a Testimony of Transformation from a mighty woman of God named Brenda. God meets us in the everyday of our lives and He often speaks to us through those closest to us. Just one word from the Lord can change our lives.

The Lord is calling out to us all to come to Him to receive His free gift of Salvation:

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let the one who hears say, "Come!" Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.  - Revelation 22:17

Be encouraged as you read:

I was raised in the Lutheran Church. We went periodically throughout my childhood.

My dad met Jesus first one day at work. He came home a different man. He stopped smoking and swearing; we didn’t know who he was.

Years later when I had children of my own we would visit my mom and dad once a week. One night as I was leaving with the boys my dad said to me, “If Jesus comes back tonight the boys would go but you won’t.” This haunted me. So much to the point that I would check the boys’ beds at night to see if they were still there. I remember telling God, “I’ll come to you but not without my husband.”

Sometime later my husband started having bad anxiety attacks. It got so bad that medication didn’t really help. He called my dad and asked if we could go to church with them on Sunday.

We went with them and there was an altar call – a chance to give your heart and life to Jesus. My husband grabbed my hand and we ran to the altar to surrender our lives to Jesus.

I will never forget that day and how happy I was. We had begun a new life together. We found a Spirit-filled church in town and began going every Sunday as a family. My husband was a new man. He was healed of his anxiety and all was well.

One day my husband stopped praying, stopped reading his Bible and made every excuse not to go to church. Within a few months he had fallen away and went back to his old lifestyle. This involved drinking and eventually led to adultery. We are no longer married but I’m still happily walking with Jesus, never regretting ever giving my life and heart to Him. His love is so beautiful and I would never give it away for any man or person ever. He is so worth it all!
