The Axe by Mindi Oaten

I am so thankful for the gift of repentance. In order for the hindrances in our lives to be removed, we must repent of the sin that the Lord reveals to us and believe His truth. We can be hindered by past offences, wrong thinking, or even things we have buried so deep we are no longer conscious of them. Sometimes that axe has to cut real deep! But it is not to destroy us, but to restore us. This painting is all about The Axe of the Lord. Be blessed!

The Axe by Mindi Oaten

Acrylic on canvas

"The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."  (Matthew 3:10)

In prayer time this morning, I heard the Lord say He wants to clear-cut — to axe the root of all the things that hinder a move of God. He wants to cut down the ways of man that hinder us from fully stepping into the new fertile land He is calling us to.

A method of regenerating, clear-cutting is necessary to cut away old dead trees so new ones can grow. Clear-cutting should be part of any responsible overall forest management plan to make sure that forests are sustainable and to provide the most benefits for wildlife.

What are the areas in your life that need to be cut away in order for God to regenerate and grow new life?

Mindi Oaten enjoys two facets of life as an artist. One, juggling a busy schedule as a wife and a mom of three boys, while working in her home studio in Cochrane, Alberta. The other, painting live prophetically during worship services throughout the United States, and more recently overseas. She is contracted by a ministry based out of Dallas, TX called Time to Revive. Mindi paints everyday imagery the Lord shows her and invites the viewer into a deeper message. She believes there is power in the simplicity of everyday visuals when the Holy Spirit is the inspiration behind it. Painting is her act of worship. It allows her to connect to the Lord, to give, to inspire, and to invite the viewer into a new perspective.
