Rose Garden by Melani Pyke

What the Lord does in our lives is such a miracle- how He takes us out of ugly sin and darkness, into beautiful righteousness and light! Have you recently stopped to meditate on the truth that you have been adopted into His family and are called a child of God? That’s huge! I think of my own children and how close they are to me. We are even more closely connected to the Lord. This week’s art feature is all about transformation, from Canadian artist Melani Pyke. Enjoy!

Rose Garden by Melani Pyke

Acrylic on canvas, 24 x 36

A rose bush in winter and early spring appears to be dead, but if we wait patiently and take good care of it, it is transformed into a thing of exquisite beauty. The image of the thorns and tangles is separated from a field of roses by a profile view of a woman praying. Like the rose bush, if we patiently seek the Lord He transforms us.

- Melani Pyke

“It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”  (Mark 4:31-32 NIV)

"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
(2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV)
